Michael Gallagher, PT, DPT
Physical Therapist – South Portland
Michael is a New Jersey native who came to Maine in 2002 after attending graduate school in Philadelphia, PA, where he began his career. Completing both a Master’s and a Doctorate in Physical Therapy, he gained experience in multiple settings, including acute care, home health, occupational health, correctional medicine, and outpatient orthopedics, where he has spent the majority of his time as a Physical Therapist. He has experience in private practice, having founded and co-owned a successful practice in Rockland. Most recently, Michael completed a three year contract assignment for Reform with the State of Maine.
Michael’s clinical interests include shoulder conditions, spinal conditions, and vestibular disorders. He deeply enjoys helping people understand not only the conditions they may have, but empowering them to reduce their pain and improve their health. Having passions for strength training, conditioning, and general fitness, Michael has a special interest in incorporating these into therapy, with the goal of improving the overall health and fitness of everyone he works with.
Outside of Reform, Michael enjoys strength training, indoor rowing, cycling, reading, and watching soccer. He also enjoys playing video games with his two sons (and usually losing) and continuing his quest to find Maine’s best NY-style pizza place.
